RCMP have charged two people in connection with a highly publicized case of animal abuse which happened at the Craven Country Jamboree.
RCMP were alerted to a situation Saturday where a kitten had allegedly been abused at the campsite by someone soaking it in alcohol and then lighting it on fire.
A man and a male youth, who were both evicted from the festival, have been charged with “causing distress to an animal”.
The two, who are not being named, appear in court in September.
The cat, named “Jamboree” is being cared for at a vet clinic in Lumsden and is recovering well from its ordeal.
