SaskEnergy will be conducting controlled natural gas flares at SaskEnergy’s Station near the intersection of Lewvan Drive and the Trans-Canada Highway.
The flares will take place Wednesday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Flares will also occur Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The flaring is necessary to help SaskEnergy perform routine system integrity work on the pipeline system.
Flaring is required to remove the remaining gas from the line before work can begin.
Residents and drivers in both areas may see a large flare being emitted from the flare stacks temporarily attached to pipeline system at the Station.
The area around the flares will be supervised to ensure public safety and SaskEnergy has notified local Emergency Responders of the upcoming events.
