The Saskatchewan NDP says the revelation from provincial finance minister Kevin Doherty that the province finished the fiscal year with a deficit of 675 million dollars shows what effects government mismanagement is having on the people of the province.
Finance critic Cathy Sproule says the SaskParty was able to squeeze in fifteen months of Crown Corporation revenues instead of the standard 12 and without that additional revenue, the numbers would have been far worse.
Sproule says the Saskatchewan Party failed to get the job done during years of record revenues. and instead wasted billions on mismanaged projects, oversaw the first downgrade of Saskatchewan’s credit rating in decades and have left Saskatchewan people to pay the price during tighter times.
She adds Saskatchewan families need a government that they can trust, who is serious about diversifying the economy, generating financial sustainability, and creating jobs so we can build for the future together.
