Opening ceremonies at the Saskatchewan Summer Games go in Estevan on Sunday, July 24.
The city prepares to welcome just under 2,000 athletes and coaches over the next week as they participate in 13 different sports.
Games manager Nicole Clow says there is a lot of excitement in Estevan right now.
“There’s no way you could miss it, this event is here,” says Clow.
“The whole community has supported us from the go. Every request we’ve made, they’ve worked for us. The city’s come out and they’re excited.”
Estevan was pounded hard by rains which caused flooding earlier this month which did affect some venues like the golf course, however Clow says a lot of people have done a lot of work over the past couple of weeks to get everything ready for the games and all spots are ready to go.
