It’s been 90 years since CKRM first hit the airwaves.
CKRM started up in Saskatchewan in 1926, and is now the province’s oldest commercial station.
Grant Biebrick, CKRM’s Program Director, says the station started with a variety of music and delivered grain prices to rural Saskatchewan farmers, which is something still important to listeners today.
The station started in Moose Jaw under the call letters of CJRM.
A number of successful broadcasters began their careers at the station, including Bonnie Baker, the first female sportscaster in Canada.
Everyone is invited to join CKRM in the celebrations with cake and hopefully plenty of stories.
You can share you rmemories of CKRM’s success.
