Quite the light show over Regina overnight after a storm system settled on top of the Queen City around 2:00am overnight.
Enviroment Canada’s James Cummine says as of early Monday there are no reports of damage from the storm.
But he says there were dozens of lightning strikes around 2:30am.
Cummine says regions like Assiniboine received wind gusts of over 70km per hour.
Reports started to surface on social media of hail in the Martensville area, the size of grapes.
Heavy rain was reported overnight between the Fort Quappelle and Wynard regions – at a time when farmers are hoping for much drier conditions.
Cummine says southeast Saskatchewan may be next for the active weather with lightning and heavy rain forecast in Monday’s early morning forecast.
There is a risk throughout the day of more severe weather in the Regina area as well.
