A major farm field day is scheduled for the Agriculture Canada research station in Swift Current on Tuesday August 9th.
Research scientist Myriam Fernandez expects over 100 farmers to attend the field day.
She says the main topics deal with low input and organic crop production.
The event has been held since 2009.
She says there will be field tours of organic trials on conservation tillage and cover crops.
Organic options through intercropping will also be highlighted.
A new oat variety for organic production will be discussed as well as a new bio-herbicide to control broadleaf weeds under organic conditions.
Farmers are asked to pre-register or come to the office by 8:15 a.m.Tuesday.
There is a 20 dollar fee which covers breakfast and lunch.
