Canada has its first medal won by a male athlete in Rio.
Andre De Grasse, from Markham, Ontario, ran a personal best 9.91 to finish third in the 100 metre dash. The race was won by Jamaica’s Usain Bolt in a time of 9.91 seconds.
Meanwhile, Weyburn’s Graham DeLaet finished 20th in the mens golf competition. DeLaet had a 72 hole score of four under 280 which was 12 back of Britain’s Justin Rose.
Canada goes into Monday at the Rio Games with 13 medals –2 gold, 2 silver and 9 bronze.
