Souls Harbour Rescue Mission has a new playground and garden area thanks to the Co-operators.
The construction took several weeks, but children from Little Souls Daycare were finally free to roam the fenced in area this afternoon. (Tues)
Patty Humphreys with Souls Harbour says it means a lot to the community to have a safe area for the kids to play.
The rescue mission’s new Samaritan Project is in the works on the 1600 block of Angus Street.
The building will house a new soup kitchen, which will turn into a mens’ shelter at night, a 60-spot daycare and about 25 affordable rental suites.
Humphreys says the Samaritan project should be finished in the next two years.
