A precautionary drinking water advisory in Moose Jaw has now been extended to the City’s southeast area and is expected to last until September 9.
“We acknowledge and regret that residents in this area have been under this advisory for a prolonged period of time,” stated Matt Noble, City Manager. “Our Engineering department is working to provide a potable water station in the area for residents and the City will be providing credits on water bills for the period of the advisory.”
A portable potable water tank will be located at the intersection of 2nd Avenue SE and Lillooet by the afternoon of Saturday, August 20. Residents affected by the advisory are invited to fill up their own clean containers with drinking water from this site.
The City’s initial plan to flush the lines and restore chlorine levels to Water Security Agency standards has not been successful and it is now looking at alternative approaches.
