The FSIN Special Legislative Assembly met on Monday to discuss plans for a casino in Lloydminster.
During the discussions was a vote to ratify the amendment to include the casino into the Gaming Framework Agreement.
Chief of the FSIN, Bobby Cameron says hopes to see the casino open by next spring or summer.
“They’re ready to go right now. As soon as they get this going, there will be a sod turning and then full steam ahead,” said Cameron.
Cameron says the construction of the casino would create at least 500 jobs. The casino would be run by the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Association.
