Lobbyists will have now have to register themselves in Saskatchewan with a new online database which launches Tuesday.
Ronald Barclay, Registrar of Lobbyists says the new system will provide greater transparency to the people of Saskatchewan.
“To enhance the integrity and accountability of government by fostering openness and transparency about who is attempting to influence decisions of public office holders,” said Barclay.
Anyone is able to visit the online registry and search to see what issues or subjects have been lobbied. Lobbyists will have 30 days to register on the site.
