With a month remaining before the first test of new Mosaic Stadium, the City of Regina and University of Regina Rams say individual tickets to the October 1 game between the Rams and University of Saskatchewan Huskies have been sold out.
A small number of University of Regina Rams’ flex packages, which include a ticket to the October 1 game at the new stadium, are still available.
“The demand for tickets speaks to the level of excitement our community has for our new multi-purpose facility and the interest in amateur football in our province,” said Mayor Michael Fougere.
“We are extremely pleased to play in front of a record-breaking crowd at the SaskTel Fall Classic and I would encourage everyone to get their flex package now and be a part of history with us as we set a Canada West Universities Athletic Association regular season attendance record,” commented U of R Rams Treasurer Chris Briltz.
The test game is the City’s opportunity to meet one of the contractual requirements with PCL, the stadium project construction partner.
The game is part of the overall Regina Revitalization Initiative Stadium Project and is designed to test the construction of the building including washrooms, public address systems and elevators.
Operational plans that will support the stadium including access and egress, transportation, parking and security will also be tested.
The City and PCL Construction celebrated the substantial completion of new Mosaic Stadium on August 31.
