A Saskatchewan government official says two young offenders – considered dangerous – have escaped custody from the North Battleford Youth Centre.
Around 6:30 pm Friday, the two escaped while outside participating in an exercise activity.
The local detachment of the RCMP was immediately notified.
The youth are considered dangerous and should not be approached, according to the government official.
Due to the restrictions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the youths could not be identified Friday night without a court order.
Early Saturday morning, the two youths were officially identified – so their names and pictures could be released:
- Sundance Stacey Mentuck is 5’ 11”, 150 pounds with a slight build and brown eyes and hair.
- Quarte Jackson is 5’ 10”, 160 pounds with a slight build with brown eyes and hair. Jackson wears glasses.
Anyone with information about the youths is urged to contact the RCMP, their local police service or to call 911 immediately.
Do not approach these individuals on your own.
