People travelling on the North Service Road in Moose Jaw will soon be in for a smoother ride. Today, Highways and Infrastructure Minister David Marit and Moose Jaw Mayor Deb Higgins announced upcoming improvements through the provincial Urban Highway Connector Program.
“The North Service Road in Moose Jaw provides an important connection between Highways 1 and 2,” Marit said. “With new businesses and growing truck traffic, this road is in need of an upgrade. We are pleased that Westside Paving, a Moose Jaw company, was awarded this contract.”
Improvements are planned on the North Service Road from Ninth Avenue Northwest to Main Street. The existing asphalt will be removed and new sub-base, base and asphalt will be installed. To ensure proper drainage, the ditches on the north side will be regraded and culverts will be replaced and upgraded as necessary.
Work will get underway on the North Service Road this month and is expected to be completed this construction season, weather permitting.
