Canola producers across Saskatchewan are hoping regulatory agencies will take a close look at Bayer’s take-over of Monsanto.
Brett Halstead is the president of the Canadian Canola Growers Association.
He says the two companies control 95 per-cent of canola traits and 70 per-cent of the retail trade for canola seed.
Canola Growers fear prices for crop inputs and seed could increase with Bayer’s take-over of Monsanto.
The deal is worth 66 billion dollars.
