Starting November 1, the city of Regina will be charging a user fee at the snow storage site, located at Fleet Street and MacDonald Street.
Norman Kyle with the City says in effect, the free ride those contractors had been taking advantage of is over.
He says after careful consultation on the issue, the city feels this is the best way to go.
Permits come at a cost of 10-dollars-a-vehicle with the user paying somewhere between 5-and 35-dollars-per-load depending on what kind of vehicle is being used.
Beginning Monday, users can register their vehicle and purchase the RFID tag by completing the application form.
Users must obtain their RFID tag from City Hall prior to entering the site as there will be no registration or payment facilities on-site.
