The City of Regina says testing of the water at the New Mosaic Stadium has come back “all-clear”.
The City announced on Thursday they would be bringing potable water into the stadium for Saturday’s test-game.
Although the water is now safe to drink, a statement from the City says the back-up plan will remain in place.
“We took steps to ensure public safety and other measures have been put in place to provide drinking water for football fans,” said Regina Mayor Michael Fougere. “We knew we would have the results back today, but this provides us the opportunity to test our back-up plans.”
A water tanker will be on location in the stadium on Saturday and fans are encouraged to bring their own drinking bottles to be filled up on site.
Bottled water will also be available for sale.
