Kim McIvor, RM administrator, says the precautionary drinking water advisory is in place while improvements are being made to the water treatment and distribution system.
He says the treatment plant is being upgraded to meet future growth needs.
At the same time, pipes are also being replaced and improved.
He says the treatment plant was built in 1989 and needed upgrading.
McIvor says the boil water advisory is in place for up to two weeks but the goal is to have the system back to normal later this week.
McIvor says there is some uncertainty about infrastructure replacement but officials hope the system will be back to normal by Friday.
