I was away from Friday at 10 til Sunday at 6:30pm.
My mission was to see a friend get married to the love of her life. A true romance story; prince charming and the Central Alberta princess that had been through a lot in her young life, including working hard at regaining her health and even harder at becoming a health care professional. To say the least, I was honored to be apart of their day.
Amandha and Mike’s vows were wonderful and some of the best info was, as it often is released at the reception! The bride’s comments about getting tired of dating losers! Classic – we’ve all done that! Bring in the male cousins to ask for dating help! And they came up with a pretty amazing guy! #NICEJOB #Amandha #DreamsComeTrue.
Amandha, can I borrow your cousins! Oh wait I’m too old to be helped!!
It was an amazing weekend, but it was 15 hours of driving to Calgary and back. That’s 1616 kms with 8 pit-stops along the way. One night of tossing and turning, dreaming I would miss the wedding; one night of not getting enough sleep (party) and then in my own home again, not getting enough zzz and up to work.
I was TIRED! But as I mentioned it was an incredible weekend. I met new people, that I hope are now friends AND I randomly ran into a friend’s son outside of the hotel I was staying in. How serendipitous!
Said individual and his friends were hangin’ outside of the hotel where I was staying, just down the street from the wedding.
I had no idea who this individual was, as he stopped me as I was just about to go into the hotel. We had a brief conversation on the street. Apparently, I looked like a generally nice person that would help someone out in a pinch! Okay!
As our conversation seemed to wrap up, they started to make their way into the hotel – there were 4 of them “Oh, you guys are staying here too!” As we got in the elevator it was revealed that I knew a couple of people these kids did. When I mentioned where I worked and my name, the kid was blown away! I had worked with his step dad in Red Deer at Zed 99! The odd thing here is that the bride was a friend of this kid’s father as well.
How odd, I would attend Amandha’s wedding, had been talking about Al and then run into Al’s step-son, Jesse!
Monday, it was basically – get to work, do your job and then crash for a complete day to catch up on sleep from a solid month of work and a weekend of driving!
Here we are Tuesday! A day to get back on track. Eating right, sleep and exercise. Except its rainy – comfort food seems like the route, OH! I did walk to work!!!
Jamie was on the hop today and did a run to Tim Horton’s – Bagel and Coffee – EYE OPENER.. Thanks for that!
The morning show runs like a fairly well oiled machine – we do contests, play music, talk about this gross weather and before you know it “FLEA MARKET” Time.
Our guests today include – Casino Regina plus the Red Cross Power of Humanity Gala board member, Yaya Wang.
Find out more about this event and grab your ticket by visiting their website. Power of Humanity
A huge thank you to Yaya, who happens to be the Brand Director for Leo’s Group in Regina (now expanding to Saskatoon).
Not one to miss an opportunity, Jamie jumped right in with the suggested pay back for having air time; “drop off a sample of that Grilled Cheese that you do! It sounds delicious!”
And at 11am – we received the Victoria’s Taveran #gc365 Poblano popper, queso sticks and chipotle mayo with mixed cheese.
Music, Food, Donuts! Well, this is not a dieters dream, but its a pretty good start to a rainy Tuesday!
Now, BLUE JAYS – can you pull of a victory tonight… One Game and we are golden! Let it be this game.
