The Blue Jays are off to the next portion of the playoffs – Texas, WATCH OUT! Knock it outta the park, Jays!
This means there is a weekend of football, baseball and eating, drinking – which equals socializing. Sounds like THANKSGIVING.
These long weekends bring back memories of running into family, school friends and generally people you haven’t seen in some time. There is an invitation to go to houses for dinners, out to meet at a bar, generally getting together 101!
If you attend a Thanksgiving get together do you feel obligated to take a “host/hostess” gift. Could be a bottle of wine, something you know they will like that you own (what a way to recycle). Perhaps you can or pickle through the summer season. Even taking produce from your garden would be fun.
While Halloween is a couple weeks off, if you grew an amazing batch of pumpkins, is this the time to move them out of your garden and into someone’s pie crust! YUM!
There is a debate; Turkey or Ham at Thanksgiving .. Yams or Potatos. What will you serve? How many are coming – is it family or friends you entertain at Thanksgiving. Do you send cards or not.
While we could debate everything – all I need to know is how to cook a turkey! LOL .. okay, I’ll figure it out.
I bought the bird … and its just been waiting to be consumed. Seems like it should be an easy task! Heat up the oven. Thaw the bird. Have a roaster big enough and an oven big enough to insert bird into and wait! Baste and Wait. Its the gravy that is the rough spot.
If I’m indeed hosting, I best figure the tactics out!
One would like to think preparing the home front for company would be high on that “TO DO LIST”.
(I can always work my clutter into a blog! Beware!)
