RCMP detachments across Saskatchewan have been busy responding to multiple minor collisions on the province’s roads and highways Wednesday thanks to the weather which has resulted in slippery roads in many areas of the province.
RCMP report 46 such calls received Wednesday alone.
There have been no major collisions to report but in some cases, traffic was temporarily diverted, but no road closures have been reported.
The RCMP reminds drivers to maintain a safe distance between their vehicle and the one ahead and pass only when safe to do so.
In the meantime. winter-like conditions likely contributed to an accident Wednesday night just before midnight on Highway 1 near Herbert.
Morse RCMP Detachment was dispatched to a 2-vehicle motor vehicle collision involving a jack-knifed semi blocking the east-bound lane of Highway 1 between Rush Lake and Herbert.
