The latest sale of crown petroleum rights this month reached 17 million dollars, doubling the amount for the fiscal year so far.
The total is 34 million dollars with two sales remaining.
This was the largest among the four public offerings so far this year.
At 150 dollars an acre, Saskatchewan’s average is the highest among Western Canadian public offerings, indicating sustained interest in the provinces petroleum resources.
In the latest offering, two exploration licences west of Estevan received bonus bids totaling 6.9 million dollars for over seven thousand acres.
Millennium Land Limited was the successful bidder for these parcels, which include the Midale and Frobisher Beds of the Madison Group, the Bakken Formation and the Three Forks/Torquay Formation.
The next offering of Saskatchewan petroleum and natural gas rights will be on December 6th.
