The Mayor of Gull Lake says the loss of the town’s historic hotel has struck the entire community.
Mayor Blake Campbell was with the ambulance crews that were called to the Clarendon Hotel around 8 a.m. Sunday.
Campbell says when they arrived, the structure was intact.
However, as the fire continued to ravage the structure, it became clear, according to the mayor, it would be nearly completely destroyed.
The Clarendon Hotel had been in the community since 1907, and Campbell says it touched every generation of people who lived in the community.
Nobody was injured in the fire.
