As I’ve blogged about many times, I see some odd things on my way to work at 3 A.M. The traffic is usually quite light at that time of the morning and every week, without fail, I run across a vehicle that looks like it has no business being on the road.
This morning when I got on to Albert St. and made my way south from 4th Ave., I got behind a small compact that was doing less than 40 clicks. Hey, if someone wants to drive 10 clicks below the speed limit, that’s alright with me as long as there are two lanes. Fortunately on Albert St. that’s the case, so I just crossed over to the other lane and passed this guy before getting back into the lane in front of him.
Apparently that didn’t sit well with this guy. About half a block up from where I passed this driver, he suddenly swung over to the other lane and passed me before getting right back in front of me and slowing back down to about 40. What’s up with this guy? Looks like he wants to be the leader of the pack and he’ll be damned if anyone takes that title away from him.
Just for fun I did the same thing I did about a minute earlier. I pulled over, passed him and got back in front of him. Guess what? He did the exact same thing. All of this was happening within 3 blocks!
When we got to the corner of Sask. Dr. and Albert St. this “leader of drivers” cranked it left and headed east on Sask. Dr.
I don’t know what his problem was, but apparently, he doesn’t like finishing in second place!
