Sunday morning, my wife and I decided that sourdough bread would go great with breakfast. The only place I know to get fresh sourdough bread at 7 o’clock on a Sunday morning is Cobs in Grasslands. After warming up my vehicle for a few minutes I was off and running. It’s funny, but the only time I seem to go to Cobs is at 7 o’clock on Sunday mornings. Usually I’ll make it over there just after they open the doors at 7 and be home making breakfast 15 minutes later. There is nothing like the smell of a bakery at the start of a day. Mmm. It all smells so good.
Not only does it smell wonderful, the staff is always so friendly. Whenever I’ve been there, the counter has been staffed by a couple of young girls who apparently don’t mind getting up to go to work that early on a Sunday morning. They are so friendly with an endless stream of smiles. While most people their age would bristle at the fact they have to get up early to go work on a weekend morning, these girls seem to thrive on it.
It seems that everywhere I go to spend money, there is a young person behind the counter making me feel like I’m interrupting their day. So, when I run across a couple of young people who treat people well with a smile, I like to acknowledge them.
Ladies at Cobs, job well done! I’ll be back for more.
