Lane restrictions have been in place for the last four months because of construction on the Regina Bypass, but all four lanes of the Trans-Canada will be open to traffic as of Friday.
Temporary traffic signals will remain at the intersection of Highways 1 and 48 while construction on the White City overpass continues.
The speed limit will be increased to 80 kilometers an hour on most sections of Highway 1 East.
Drivers will still have to slow down to 60 when going through construction zones near White City and Balgonie.
In a news release, highways minister David Marit is thanking people for their patience and understanding knowing the project has delayed people in the Regina area.
In just over a year, the overpasses at both Balgonie and White City will be open to traffic.
