The NDP is calling on the Saskparty government to crack down on Husky energy after an oil pipeline spill this summer along the North Saskatchewan River.
Opposition critic Cathy Sproule questions the necessity of giving Husky an additional 30 days to complete a report on the spill.
She says the pipeline act allows for a fine of 50 thousand dollars for failing to follow the rules.
She says the Wall government has an obligation to uphold the law and protect Saskatchewan interests.
Energy minister Dustin Duncan says the investigation into the spill is not complete and the 30 day extension rule was put in place by the NDP.
He says the spill was serious and he wants to see a complete investigation into the spill.
He says the report will be released when completed.
