On Friday October 21st, 2016, a number of members of the Regina Police Service walked the beat in North Central Regina for “Community Cop Day”.
According to Police, they walked to show how Regina Police are committed to the safety of the North Central neighbourhood as well as being responsive to the concerns of the residents.
About 15 police officers spoke with numerous members of the public, local business owners, met with a number of north central organizations and members of the media while they walked the beat in North Central.
It was an opportunity to connect with the community and provide a police presence for the evening.
The initial evaluation indicates it was a worthwhile experience for all involved and the RPS looks forward to the next “Community Cop Day”.
