The Craven Country Jamboree is getting a new name, but the country music festival that has become a highlight of Saskatchewan’s summer isn’t changing at all.
Organizers announced the annual summer event at Craven will now be known as “Country Thunder Saskatchewan”.
Country Thunder has several festivals throughout Canada and the U-S, and came to Craven asking for them to join the umbrella which was something they weren’t going to refuse.
General Manager Kim Blevins says with this fusion, they will create something bigger and better in Saskatchewan with better artist buying power, and an incredibly powerful brand recognition.
The headline act this year was announced, and it will be Keith Urban.
He is no stranger to Craven, and Saskatchewan as he was the headline act a few years ago and just performed in Saskatoon last month.
The Saturday closer will be Toby Keith with Blake Shelton getting the honor of closing on Friday.
Other names like Dallas Smith, High Valley, Terri Clark and Meghan Patrick were announced for this year’s event which goes July 13-16.
Weekend passes are available for 150 dollars.
