Saturday’s final home game for the Saskatchewan Roughriders at current Mosaic Stadium will be memorable for fans and players alike.
Mayor Michael Fougere says there are few structures in Regina that are as instantly recognizable, familiar, and friendly as Taylor Field at Mosaic Stadium. He adds the stadium has welcomed people from Saskatchewan, Canada and around the world as it plays host to activities beyond Riders football.
While the 5 p.m. clash between the Riders and B.C. Lions has events pre and post-game to mark the occasion, fans are reminded that Mosaic Stadium will continue to be used in the weeks to come. Playoff games involving both the Regina High School Athletic Association and the University of Regina Rams home games are scheduled. Some stadium assets will eventually find their way to auction, so fans are asked to refrain from removing or damaging any part of the facility.
The City’s farewell tribute features a three-minute video with testimonials and photographs that will be played during the pre-game celebrations.
