The Regina Rams season is over.
After a season where the team finished first in Canada West with a record of 6-2, they were unable to best the defending Vanier Cup champion UBC Thunderbirds for a 3rd time this season losing 40-34 in semi-final play.
The Thunderbirds scored 17 points in a span of just under seven minutes midway through the 3rd quarter allowing them to take control by going up 26 points.
The Rams staged a furious rally in the last half of the 4th quarter, but they were unable to get the ball back in the final seconds as their season came to an end.
The Thunderbirds will move on to Calgary for next weekend’s Hardy Cup,
The Dinos beat Saskatchewan 47-17 in the other semi-final.
The contest was also the last football game played at Mosaic Stadium.
