Temporary traffic lights will be installed at the intersection of Gravel Pit Road and Highway 1 East as construction continues on the Regina Bypass.
The traffic signals are expected to be installed and operational the week of November 7, 2016.
According to a report, the Bypass team says a decision to install the traffic signals comes after monitoring traffic patterns in the area.
Trucks will also be hauling across the highway at the intersection for construction on the north side of Highway 1.
New speed limits will accompany the installation of the traffic lights.
The speed limit from the Regina city limits to Gravel Pit Road will be 70 km/h, while a 60 km/h speed zone will be in effect from Gravel Pit Road to just east of Highway 48.
The speed then increases to 80 km/h to Balgonie, with the exception of a 60 km/h zone around the site of the Balgonie overpass.
Other ongoing work along the corridor will require reductions to one lane and 60 km/h, as needed.
The Bypass Team will continue to monitor traffic flow throughout the winter.
