Court of Queen’s Bench services in Weyburn are closing.
The provincial government confirmed Monday the court’s registrar’s office will be closing and their files will be handled by the registrar’s office in Estevan.
The court is housed in the same building as Saskatchewan’s provincial court, which will remain open.
Four years ago, the building underwent $8 million in renovations.
Two staff will be affected by the move a sheriff will be offered a transfer to Estevan, and one administrative assistant position will be lost.
According to the province, less than one per cent of Queen’s Bench trials in the province took place in Weyburn.
