The trial for a 17 year old boy facing a first degree murder charge in the January 2015 death of 16 year old Hannah Leflar has pleaded not guilty.
A jury was chosen Monday morning for the trial which is expected to last two weeks with testimony beginning in the afternoon.
The Crown says the accused was part of a plan to kill Leflar, and was in the house when the crime was committed by another boy who has already pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing.
The defence argued while the accused was at the house when the murder happened, he was not a part of the plan and that the evidence will show that.
The Crown has already indicated it plans on seeking an adult sentence for the boy who has pleaded guilty, and that if the accused in this case pleads guilty, they will do the same thing.
