On Tuesday the Carmichael Outreach Centre, an organization driven to end homelessness in Regina, teamed up with SaskTel to take in over 60 comfort packs and six boxes of sleeping bags and blankets.
They will be distributed to those in need around Regina this holiday season.
The packs and blankets were collected and put together by SaskTel employees and SaskTel Pioneer volunteers in September and October.
Cora Gajari Carmichael Outreach Centre Executive Director says many people depend on these simple necessities and people in need are always very happy and appreciative to receive these basic items, especially around the holidays.
The comfort packs include a variety of essential items including soap, toothpaste, socks, shampoo, and feminine products.
Overall SaskTel collected over 1,070 comfort packs and 80 boxes of sleeping bags and blankets which will be distributed to 22 organizations in ten major centres around Saskatchewan.
They also collected over $13,000 in donations to distribute.
