Sobeys is recalling its Compliments brand broccoli slaw due to a possible listeria contamination.
The product was distributed to stores in all Canadian provinces except Quebec.
The affected product is sold in a 340-gram bag with a best before date of November 25, 2016.
No illnesses have been reported so far, but the CFIA says the recalled product should be thrown out or returned to the store where it was purchased.
It also says the food may not look or smell spoiled, but could still make someone sick.
Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.
Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
