The Carmichael Community Outreach Centre is hoping to relocate to a property on the corner of 12th Avenue and St John Street in Reginas’ Heritage neighborhood.
Wednesday night the public will get a chance to share their thoughts and concerns with the city about the planned proposal with an open house.
Louise Folk Director of Development Services says that would mean rezoning the proposed area from strictly residential to a mixed zone, which would allow both residential and businesses to be located in the same area.
She said the open house is one step in the process before a final decision is made.
“Once the city receives all the feedback from the public as well as our technical review process as well as information from the police and Regina Qu’ Appelle Health Region we would be looking a bringing a recommendation forward to the planning commission, I’d anticipate that happening in the first quarter of 2017.”
The open house will be at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at 1909 Ottawa Street.
