The Regina Fire Department is investigating a Monday morning fire in the Cathedral area.
The department was sent to the 2900 block of 14th Avenue to fight a fire in an apartment building.
When they arrived, they found the fire was contained to one suite in the basement.
Two people in that suite and another in a neighbouring one had to be removed with assistance from firefighters,
Fire marshal Randy Ryba says the blaze was contained to one suite, but there was smoke damage.
Those affected were able to get some warmth as a Regina Transit bus was brought in.
The Canadian Red Cross is helping the 30-50 people in the building.
The Red Cross is speaking with occupants seeing what their needs are, if any, as a result of the fire and is giving 72 hours of food, clothing and accomodation if needed.
