Every morning this week, the lights at 4th and Lewvan appear to have a mind of their own and do not want anyone to cross that intersection heading either east or west!
Monday morning I rolled up to the lights expecting my usual wait time, which is usually less than a minute. That morning I waited and waited and watched the lights. When the lights turned yellow for traffic driving on Lewvan I got ready to hit the gas and proceed down 4th Ave. Well, once the lights turned red, they suddenly turned green again for traffic heading north and south on Lewvan, of which there was none. Not one car. I waited for another cycle and the same thing happened. After the third time I decided to crank my vehicle to the right and take the Lewvan route in to work.
The same thing happened on Tuesday and again I waited to see what would happen. Again, I waited for a green light that just didn’t come. It ended up being another morning down the Lewvan. Yesterday I didn’t wait as long to see what happened and this morning I didn’t wait at all. I signalled half a block before I got to Lewvan and headed south. My mind was made up.I wasn’t falling for that trick again!
I guess I could have crossed against a red light, but I’m not sure whether or not there is a red light camera at that intersection and I really don’t like the prospect of ending up in traffic court explaining my actions to a judge.
At least I won’t have to worry about that tomorrow morning…I’m off!
Have a great weekend!
