A major Saskatchewan Ag retailer is offering a new production and marketing tool to farmers.
Federated Co-ops has reached an agreement with Decisive Farming to offer advanced crop production and marketing services at 125 Agro-Centres.
Remi Schmaltz is the CEO for Decisive Farming.
He says the company offers soil sampling and data management services to improve crop yields.
He says there is yearly soil testing and consulting with agronomy specialists to determine best fertilizer plans for yield improvement.
Depending on the program, Schmaltz says the cost is two to 10 dollars per acre with payback running around 20 dollars an acre.
The goal is a ten per-cent yield improvement.
The company also offers a comprehensive marketing strategy which includes hedging and futures options.
