Despite Christmas being just a few days away, Regina City Council will meet Monday night.
And high on the agenda is a request to amend existing zoning for a proposed new building for Souls Harbour Rescue Mission.
The organization is hoping to build a new location on Angus Street in North Central Regina.
The group is currently on Hamilton Street in a building over a century-old.
According to Souls Harbour, the group says it has outgrown the building.
Souls Harbour serves about 200 meals every day. It gives shelter to about a minimum of 12 people each night. It’s often at capacity.
Souls Harbour is proposing an additional 16 units be added to the new building with a kitchen as well as a daycare.
Notices were send to property owners in the proposed area in June and July with an open house taking place at the end of August.
