Well, here we are, the final week leading up to Christmas. It’s hard to believe it’s here already!
Friday I took my usual day off before Christmas to get all of the last minute things done that needed doing. Fortunately my wife was off as well so we had double the manpower, or wo-manpower, as it were, to get things done.
The advantage of taking a day off before Christmas is that we can get to the store right when the doors open, thus avoiding any big crowds. Trust me, there is a method to my madness, and it works.
My wife and I got to Toys ‘R’ Us right at 9 on Friday morning. They open a little later than everyone else, otherwise, we would have made it there a lot earlier. We were in and out within 10 minutes. Perfect! After that it was off to the grocery store. We started our shopping journey at Home Depot before 8 and we were all done everything and back home by 10!
Saturday we had our family Christmas get together in Craven. Driving past Walmart on Pasqua on the way out, we took a glance and the parking lot and said to ourselves, “Man, I’m glad we’re not there right now.” It looked a little hectic from our vantage point.
Can you believe winter arrives Wednesday morning? That means, as of Thursday, the days start getting longer!
Gotta love that!
