The provincial government has received a report on education governance from Dan Perrins.
That report provides three main options for the government to consider with one of them being to consolidate all 18 provincial school boards into one that would manage the over 600 public schools in Saskatchewan..
Another option is to establish a regional model consisting of four boards with the other option being one that would see a restructuring of school divisions to create 8-14 new ones or re-aligning boundaries of existing divisions.
Education minister Don Morgan is appointing a six member panel to look over the report and talk it over with key stakeholders in face-to-face meetings.
People are also asked before January 23 to go online and give public feedback on the report with the panel presenting its findings in February.
