Canada’s threat level remains at medium, according to Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.
The statement comes after the Berlin truck attack this week, which killed 12 people and injured at least 50 others, and after a Russian ambassador was assassinated in Turkey.
Goodale says there is no indication Canada’s threat level needs to be changed and the country’s security is being monitored constantly.
“Every factor, every issue, every development, everywhere in the world is carefully taken into account by our security and intelligence agencies,” said Goodale.
Goodale says the threat level in Canada has remained at medium since the fall of 2014.
