This morning is one of those mornings that I sit in front of this darn computer trying to figure out what to blog about. Sometimes I know what I’ll blog about the day before I actually write it. Other times I’ll formulate an idea in my head on my way to work. Many times what I see on my way to work is what ends up getting blogged about. Not much this morning to write home about.
I guess I could blog about taking down our Christmas tree yesterday, but seeing as I blogged about having to take down the tree yesterday, another blog about the actual taking down of the tree would be somewhat anticlimactic.
I guess I could blog about how fast traffic was moving this morning. There weren’t many vehicles out, but apparently, the drivers I did see figured it was a beautiful July morning and they could drive as fast as they wanted without any repercussions. One truck passed me like I was standing still. If that guy needed to slam on the brakes at any time, he might still be sliding as I write this blog.
One thing I will do is thank our wonderful news director Christina Cherneskey. This morning when I got into our studio I noticed a couple of gift wrapped bottles on the counter, one for myself and one for Gloria. We both received a bottle of “Lucky Bastard” vodka from Ms. Cherneskey. Don’t get your knickers in a knot, that’s the actual name of the vodka and it’s brewed in Saskatoon. Now I understand why they haven’t advertised thus far, with a name like that, but that’ll change soon. I’ve heard worse language than that on CBC at 5 o’clock in the afternoon!
What’s better than a news reader who delivers a perfect newscast? One who delivers a perfect bottle of vodka!
So, although there wasn’t much to blog about this morning, it turned out to be a great morning indeed. Maybe I’ll try a little experiment on air this morning with the gift I received. I might just need a designated driver after the show, and if my experiment goes according to plan, I might just need a new job to go to on Tuesday morning.
Have a Happy New Year!
