The year has been one filled with obituaries.
Yes, I know – that is our life cycle .. we are; born to live and then we die – at some point.
Who would have thought that this year would be filled with names, that while familiar to us, we did not know on an intimate level.
Each year our music, cinema, political and sport figure list gets longer or shorter, depending on which side of the scale you look. Our generation or that of our parents is changing!
Castro, Ali, Bowie, Prince, Fisher, Palmer, Reagan, Thicke, Reynolds, Glenn – So many and we felt like we knew them all.
They inspired love and hate. They made us question things and engaged us to reach new heights or delve deeper.
With each generation and aging population we will come through a cycle such as this.
However, 2016 has left us with the question of “who’s next?”. So much so, someone has started a GoFundMe page to protect Betty White from this year!
There are only a few hours remaining in 2016.
Not everything has been written in obituaries nor memorials. And even then, those that have passed, have left us with legacies that need to be celebrated (in most cases).
We have been inspired, have embraced new traditions and have gone to uncomfortable places AND we have come out the other side okay!
2017 promises to be fun and action packed as Canada celebrates 150 years.
Don’t waste a moment sitting on the side-lines. Get on the playing field, don’t give up the ball, keep pressing!
