Not so long ago, I endured a week of about 17 degree temperatures in my apartment. It was the 1st portion of December. If you recall, it was rather chilly!
What happened? The boiler bailed! The company didn’t recognize what was happening. For all the tenants knew, the boiler wasn’t even turned on!! It works now. I am definitely acclimatized to winter months.
The days are brisk, but that hasn’t dampened the spirit.
I dress for the weather and still get out to walk, other than the trek to and from the office.
A brisk walk takes half the time it would to warm up the car. I look at my tires daily to check their condition! Tough stuff not having a garage! Nor a plug in!
Approximately the beginning of November I gifted myself a Fitbit! I love this little contraption!
As Canada celebrates its 150th Anniversary, I am celebrating walking 15,000 steps OR MORE on a daily basis.
Canada 150 for 15,000km per day til July 1.
My route is somewhat planned, it is quiet, but well travelled. There are different ways to branch out and enjoy the neighbouring parks, streets, natural areas and businesses.
Use of the car has shrunk over these last couple of weeks. Once you are “geared” up to go, your body generates enough heat rather quickly! Almost over-dressed.
If I can, I like to catch rides with people so that I can walk back from wherever I end up. Little things like that add up.
Yesterday, Jamie dropped me off at Dewdney Avenue. I walked home, with a few detours and when I went back out for my evening jaunt, it sure didn’t take long to hit one bench mark of steps and then another.
The things and places you’ll see when you are out attempting those 15,000 plus steps a day. Thanks for the kick in the Pants #150CANADA!
