Regina Police say they deployed a taser Sunday while arresting a 30-year-old Regina man who — according to police — was threatening violence with a weapon.
Around 8:3 p.m. on Sunday, police say they were dispatched to the 3200 Block of Rochdale Blvd. for a report of a man was apparently was going to use violence with a weapon.
Officers located him on the 900 block of Downey Cres. and attempted to negotiate with him, but he tried to take off in a vehicle.
Before the he was able to drive away, the CEW was deployed and he was taken safely into custody.
He was not injured, but was transported to the hospital for a Mental Health assessment, according to the Regina Police Service.
