In less than 2 weeks Evans and I will be on our annual Flea Market trip. On January 25th we’re off to beautiful Manzanillo, Mexico.
I love those people who say to me, “I hope it warms up here while you’re gone.” Yup, that’ll break my heart. Zero degrees here compared to plus 32 where I’ll be. Maybe I should cancel the trip so I can enjoy a mild week or two here at home!
Another thing I find odd, and it happens every year we go somewhere, someone traveling with our group will come up, look me dead in the eye, and with a smirk on their face say “Hey, have you heard about the weather back home?” Really? I don’t know and I could care less. We’re on vacation and you’re keeping yourself busy by checking the weather at home? Sheesh.
Over the course of the next few weeks there’ll be a few trips to the department store to pick up some stuff we’ll need. I’ll grab some more aftershave while my wife will spend a few hundred bucks on some new clothes for the trip.
We have lodgings for the dog and we’ll have someone staying at the house to make sure things continue to run smoothly at the Lewis household.
I like to have things planned out for a trip like this well in advance. That way, when I get to my destination, the only thing I have to worry about is how the weather back home is!
